Aviva Premiership Betting Tips

6 nations wales v englandBy Mark Rawlinson

The Aviva Rugby Premiership continues this weekend and there is plenty of action happening over the next few days.

Worcester Warriors v Harlequins (Friday)

On Friday night, Worcester will be looking to get their first win on the board over John Kingston’s Harlequins.

So far, Worcester have been on the end of defeats to 2013 play-off champions Leicester Tigers on the opening day and last week were shaded out 20-18 by London Irish.

Warriors boss Dean Ryan has made four changes to his side with props Jeremy Becasseau and John Andreas and lock Dean Schofield all being recalled to the squad. Meanwhile, flanker Jake Abbott is given his first start of the season.

The visitors bring Rob Buchanan and Willier Collier back into the front row whilst Tom Guest returns to the back row.

The last time the two sides met was on the penultimate weekend of the regular league season and Harelquins ran out 42-26 winners and they are favourites to win this encounter, with Sportingbet offering odds of 8/15. Stan James provide the best price on a Worcester win at 9/4.

This game is live on BT Sport 1 tonight from 7:45pm, whilst at 8pm this evening, Sale Sharks face London Wasps.

Gloucester v Northampton Saints (Saturday)

On Saturday afternoon, unbeaten Northampton visit rock-bottom side Gloucester who are also in search of their first win of the season.
The hosts are set to hand a full league debut to lock Elliott Stooke whilst for the visitors, Alex walker comes in for the rested Alex Cobisiero.

Gloucester caused a surprise when the two sides met in February last season, winning 27-11 at Franklin’s Gardens. A number of bookies, including Bet 365, are offering odds of 11/10 on a repeat of that outcome although second placed Northampton are expected to prevail, with Sportingbet providing the best odds of 19/20.

You can watch this game live on Saturday from 3:15pm on BT Sport 1.

Elsewhere in the Premiership on Saturday afternoon, Leicester Tigers host Newcastle Falcons whilst Exeter visit London Irish, with both of those matches kicking-off at 3pm.

Saracens v Bath (Sunday)

The final match of the weekend sees early leaders Saracens host third-placed Bath at the Allianz Park in what promises to be an exciting game.

England full-back Alex Goode will make his first appearance of the season for Saracens who also welcome back front-rowers Mako Vunipola and Schalk Brits and lock George Kruis.

Bath also make four changes to their side that recorded an excellent 27-20 win over Leicester last weekend. Martin Roberts and tom Heathcote will make their first appearances of the campaign whilst Tom Briggs and Alafoti Fa’osiliva return to the side.

Saracens came out on top in both league meetings between the sides last season, with a 22-0 win in Bath back in December before beating the Somerset side 23-14 in the return fixture in May.

And they are big favourites with the bookies for this match, Coral providing the best odds at 1/4. Sportingbet offer the best odds on a Bath victory at 5/1.

The game is live on BT Sport 1 from 2pm.
