Champions League First Round Preview

The UEFA Champions League is set to kick off next Tuesday, 15th September, with the group stage matches that will run until Wednesday, December 9th taking place to determine which teams will progress towards the round of 16 stages.

Of course, all the sports betting enthusiasts out there will no doubt want to participate in some informed game wagering, and where better to place your bets than at Bet365?

Tuesday

Bet365 has several teams who are odds on favourites to win their games in the opening round. For example, Paris Saint-Germain are expected to pick up the win over Malmö with odds of 1/10, while Real Madrid are also expected to claim a victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, with odds of 1/6.

Manchester City will take on Juventus on Tuesday in their hometown, and are odds on favourite to come out of it the victors at odds of 4/6. A draw in this match is slightly less probable, with Bet365 offering odds of 11/4 on such an outcome, while a Juventus win is predicted to be even less likely, with odds of 4/1 offered.

Manchester United will also be in action on Tuesday, taking on PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The scales are tipped towards a Man U win, according to Bet365, with odds of 21/20 being offered on the away team. A draw is also considered more likely to happen than a Dutch victory, with odds of 12/5 offered onn the former and 5/2 on the latter.

Wednesday

Moving in to Wednesday, Valencia are hotly tipped to pick up a win in their hometown over FC Zenit, with odds of 4/6 being offered on the Spanish team. Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen are also expected to win their match against Belarusian team FV BATE Borisov, with odds of 1/5 being offered on such at Bet365.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will face off against Macccabi Tel Aviv FC in London, with the English team looking most likely to pick up the win. Bet365 is offering odds of 1/9 for such an event to happen, while a draw is less likely with odds of 15/2 and a Tel Aviv win even less so with odds of 20/1 being offered.

Arsenal will travel to Croatia to play a game against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, although the home team aren’t expected to come out with the win, wwith Bet365 offering odds of 15/2 on such an outcome. An Arsenal victory seems much more favourable, with odds of 2/5 being provided and a draw being given odds of 10/3.
