Championship Betting Tips

There are some great fixtures in the championship this weekend.

At the top of the bill is the top of the table clash between Leicester and Burnley at the King Power Stadium and available on Sky Sports 1 at 12.15.

Unusually for such a fixture, both teams come into the game in bad form. Leicester have been beaten by Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton in their last two fixtures, while Burnley before last Saturdays stumbled 1-0 win over bottom placed Barnsley had got 5 matches without a win.  Expect a tight match with neither team wanting to be defeated.  David Nugent will be hoping to build on his tally of 9 goals from 18 appearances, and has scored 3 times out of the last 4 fixtures between these two teams. He is best priced 5/1 to score the first goal with Coral, and it is 13/5 for the draw with BetVictor.

Elsewhere second placed QPR face a potentially tricky visit to Bloomfield Road to face 7th placed Blackpool. If QPR are to return to the Premier League, this is the kind of fixture Harry Redknapp will be hoping to secure three points from, and his side will be looking to pile more misery on Paul Ince’s outfit who were beaten 5-1 by in-form Derby last weekend, and lowly Yeovil the week before. Blackpool have been given 5 red cards in their last two fixtures, and miss Ricardo Fuller, Angel Martinez and Neal Bishop through suspension. Their depleted squad should struggle to cope with the best team in the championship and QPR are best priced 6/5 with William Hill for a win.
