With the League Cup final taking place on Sunday, there are only eight Premier League fixtures taking place this weekend, with key clashes at the top and bottom of the table.
Fulham v Chelsea Betting Tips
The pick of the Saturday 3pm games is a bottom of the table v top of the table West London derby between Fulham and Chelsea.
It’s been a dire season so far for the Cottagers who are now with their third manager of the campaign Felix Magath. They’ve picked up just two points from their last seven games and have work to do if they’re to preserve their Premier League status.
Darren Bent returns for the hosts after missing last weekend’s defeat to West Brom with personal reasons but Magath says January signing Kostas Mitroglou will again not feature.
Chelsea are unbeaten in twelve in the league and will be confident of making that 13 on Saturday as they bit to remain top of the pile.
David Luiz is set for a return to Jose Mourinho’s team following a muscle injury but defenders Gary Cahill and John Terry both have knocks and are doubts for the match.
Southampton v Liverpool Betting Tips
Then at 5:30pm Southampton entertain who will be after a fourth straight league win to keep their title hopes alive.
The Saints currently lie ninth in no man’s land but will want to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to West Ham last time out but they may be without Victor Wanyama and Jos Hooiveld who are both injury doubts.
Visitors Liverpool remain four points off the summit but this is the first of three tricky away ties, with trips to Manchester United and Cardiff coming up.
Lucas will not be available for Brendan Rodgers but Mamadou Sakho stands a better chance of making his return to action.
The Merseysiders have been in free scoring form in recent weeks, thanks partly due to Daniel Sturridge’s profligacy. BET OF THE DAY Sturridge anytime goalscorer at 7/5 with Bet Victor.
Southampton nicked a 1-0 win when these sides last met at Anfield in September and they have not lost any of their last four home matches with the Reds and are good value at 11/4 with William Hill. Liverpool are big favourites though with Bet Victor pricing them at 23/20.
This match is live on Sky Sports 1 from 5:30pm.
Aston Villa v Norwich City Betting Tips
The TV game on Sunday afternoon following the League Cup final is the potentially crucial relegation six-pointer between Aston Villa and Norwich City.
Both sides have a four point gap down to Sunderland who of course feature at Wembley this weekend and a win for either would see them pull further away from danger.
Recent form has been a worry for Villa, with just one point picked up from the last 12. Paul Lambert will be able to call upon Ashley Westwood who’s recovered from a dead leg whilst full back Ryan Bertrand is also fit again.
Norwich secured an impressive 1-0 win over Tottenham last weekend but the Canaries will be without Leroy Fer and Jonás Gutiérrez who both remain sidelined.
