Tuesday 29th October is the start of the eagerly awaited NBA Basketball season and Bet365 are live streaming the entire event to the UK, Ireland & Denmark.
Miami Heat are the 2/1 leading contenders to win the championship following their triumphant 4-3 defeat over San Antonio Spurs in the play-off finals.
They welcome 9/1 shot, Chicago Bulls to the American Airlines Arena on the opening night of the season, looking to stamp some early authority on the championship.
Lebron James will match up against the emphatic Derrick Rose, who has been unfortunate with injuries in previous seasons since winning the MVP in his first year.
‘King James’ won his second MVP award in as many years last season, and will chase his fifth overall award this time round as he bids to lead Miami towards another victorious year in competition.
The two LA sides are also matching up on the first night, with the yellow side of the city very much outsiders this season at 30/1.
Following Dwight Howard’s departure to the Houston Rockets (11/1) and question marks over the fitness and health of legend Kobe Bryant, many punters have written off the Lakers before the season has even started.
But Dwight’s departure could in fact free up space for the very talented Pau Gasol, who will be given the chance to show his quality as the big man this year.
Indiana Pacers (11/1) proved to be the hardest team to break down last season defensively, and they host big-price outsiders Orlando Magic (250/1), who continue their downhill slump in form.
Another of this season’s favourites, Brooklyn Nets (9/1) hosts the home of 1st round draft pick Anthony Bennett, Cleveland Cavaliers (60/1).
With him joining the already improving team which includes the skilful superstar Kyrie Irving, it will be all but straightforward for the Nets, who seem to be struggling defensively during pre season.
However, Jason Kidd and his team will be hoping that the experience of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett can get them off to the perfect start at the Barclays Center.
Oklahoma City Thunder are also tipped for this year’s championship, at 6/1 with most firms. Kevin Durant, the 3-time NBA top scorer will be aiming to win his first title, alongside team talisman Russell Westbrook.
Miami Heat look very hard to oppose though, with Lebron James and Dwayne Wade expected to carry the team equally as well as last year.
Golden State Warriors are another team that could be worth backing each-way for the new campaign. Steph Curry’s fantastic 3-point shooting helped him break an NBA record of scoring the most 3 pointers in a single season last year.
And with the draft of Andre Iguodala , the Warriors certainly cannot be ignored at a good price of 20/1.
