Interesting bets for World Cup 2014

This year sees a real treat being served up for fans of the beautiful game as the word cup is being hosted by the country that epitomises silky skills and stylish showmanship – Brazil! For those who love a little flutter on the big matches, World Cup betting is going to be very interesting this summer in Rio!

As per usual, the host nation are the hot favourites and the smart money will probably be going on Brazil at around 3/1 right now. But how much more fun would it be shirking the odds-on tip and going for a more interesting set of World cup odds instead? As we’ve already mentioned, the host nation usually get a high ranking and who would bet against these Samba masters on their home turf? But we’ll look at a few less obvious nations, plus a few other World cup odds that could make good sense.

World Cup Betting Odds

Okay, betting on England to win the world cup after nearly 50 years of hurt is probably a mug’s game, but 33/1 says otherwise. Even Holland are worth a second look, just check out the World Cup comparison sites for some very tasty options there. The most generous odds are awarded to the lowly Honduras and a £250 bet on those bad boys to win overall will net you around one million big ones!

The Brazil World Cup will probably throw up a few weird results and taking a 10/3 against Portugal to beat Germany has to be one of the smart bets of the competition. And we also like the look of a real World Cup odds upset with a 19/1 saying that Iran can’t take out previous winners Argentina on the 21st June. Just remember to check out the World Cup odds comparison sites and you may see some odds that could make the tournament one you remember for all the right reasons.
