There is plenty of racing action to get stuck into on Saturday, with seven meetings scheduled across the UK and Ireland for what is a family day within the sport.
Easter Family Fun Day at Kempton supplies some of the higher quality races of the day, with the Listed Fillies’ Stakes and the Class 2 Handicap both set to go ahead.
Kempton Horse Racing Tips
Both Richard Hannon and Charlie Appleby have mighty strong entries in this one, with Zibelina slightly leading the market from Zurigha. The former is currently 7/4 with William Hill, whilst the latter has been backed into 15/8.
Appleby’s four-year-old wasn’t beaten too far in fourth last time in a Group 3 and won at that level the time before. Hannon’s filly signed off last campaign by winning a listed event in fine style. It is sure to be a cracking contest which the rest of the field will have to improve for; otherwise it could be a battle of the favourites.
The second race on the card at Kempton is the Class 2 “Goals Galore Extra” Handicap, which sees Luca Cumani’s Ayaar in action for the first time since joining the yard. The colt won a similar race to this back in September and should be bang up for a repeat of that following a break.
Most of the opposition have won all their races at a much lower level and this looks shaped up well for the favourite, who is currently best price 7/2 with Coral. Glen Moss may be the best of the rest.
MIDNITE ANGEL looks the obvious pick in the Betfred Fillies’ Conditions stakes and is currently 13/8 second favourite, behind only Queen Of Ice in the betting. The former has 13lb in hand of her rivals and is entered into the 1,000 Guineas so must be respected in this.
William Haggas’ three-year-old won well on soft at Newmarket last year but looked slightly green and should run better in this.
Haydock Horse Racing Tips
Family Day at Haydock supplies us with another batch of decent action, including what is sure to be the most wide open contest of the day, the totescoop6 Millionaire Maker Handicap Chase. Bincombe is a strong market leader for Philip Hobbs and they have a strong hand here. He is lightly raced and ran well last time so could be a key player.
Another lightly raced option that should run well is the pick of Nigel Twiston-Davies’ three entries, Hollow Blue Sky. He won well over a slightly shorter trip last time and represents good place value here at 8/1.
King Massini fell early at Cheltenham after a break so we don’t know much following that run, however if he can continue his improvement from before that, a big race is expected. Midnight Sail ran superbly to defy a big weight at Sandown and there is no reason why he can’t do it again here at a higher level. At 10/1, he is one of the most valuable options in the field.
The outsider that strikes most appeal for me is Special Account who is an inconsistent type, but if he runs well could do enough to be bang there.
Generous Ransom represents decent value in the 2.40, Bennys Well should run well in the 3m4f Chase and BLAKLION represents good value in the last of the day over at Haydock.
BETS OF THE DAY:
MIDNITE ANGEL @ 13/8
BLAKLION @ 8/11
