NFL AFC and NFC Championship Game Betting Tips

Jack Benyon

The whole NFL season comes down to this, the Champions of the AFC and NFC will win Football’s biggest prize, a place in the Superbowl.

New England Patriots @ Denver Broncos – AFC Championship Game – 20:00

The 15th edition of Manning vs. Brady sees the 12-4 Patriots and the 13-3 Broncos in Denver. The two quarterbacks have not only met 14 times previously but have played each other in twice in AFC Championship games, with each quarterback winning 1 game. The biggest question surrounding tonight’s game is which defence will turn up. Both have below average defence, and above average offence, with Denver coming in off a record breaking yardage and touchdown season and the Pats with next to know receiving core still remained a pass first offence. The last meeting between the two the Pats beat the Broncos 34-31 on November 24.

The Broncos are surprisingly heavy favorites at 7/15 with Bwin, whilst the Pats are a great price at 2/1 with Bet 365. The pick of the anytime touchdown scorers has to be Legarrette Blount, who tore the Colts to pieces last week with a playoff franchise record 4 touchdowns. He’s evens with William Hill. Erik Decker is a nice choice for the Broncos; he’s been in fantastic form and is also evens with William Hill. Pats to score over 25 points is 10/11 with Paddy Power, and 3-4 touchdowns or 5-6 touchdowns is 19/5 and 2/1 respectively with William Hill. The Pats to win the game by 1/10 is 13/5 with Paddy Power, but it may be wise to stick with the outright match betting mentioned earlier at 2/1, as the game could be a blowout either way. Same rules apply for the Broncos, but their 11/10 with Paddy Power to win by 1-10. Look for the combination of Belicheck and Brady to get the job done in the playoffs once more for the Patriots.

San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks – NFC Championship Game – 23:30

The NFC Championship game sees the two most talented teams in the NFL meet at CenturyLink Field, Seattle. The 12-4 49ers beat the Packers and Panthers to earn a spot in the title game, winning eight straight games and the last two away from home. The Seahawks dispatched the Saints last week, and have earned home field advantage after a 13-3 season. Both teams play stellar defence, and will do their best to force turnovers in what will be a thrilling encounter. The 49ers are marginally better offensively, but the Seahawks secondary nicknamed the ‘Legion of Boom’ are terrifyingly effective when it comes to shutting down receivers. The 49ers are outsiders with Coral at 33/20, whilst the Seahawks are 5/9 with William Hill. Under or over 40 points in the game, depending on how you think the two offences will produce, is 10/11 with Bet Victor. The first scoring play to be a field goal is a brilliant 5/4 with Bet 365, and over 1.5 interceptions is 6/5 with Ladbrokes.

Marshawn Lynch has to be the pick for anytime touchdown scorer at 2/3 with Ladbrokes, while for the 49ers Vernon Davis is a long 9/5 with Paddy Power. 49ers to win by 1-10 or 1-5 is 12/5 and 5/1 respectively with Paddy Power, and the Seahawks to win by 1-10 or 1-6 is 8/5 or 7/2, also with Paddy Power. The 49ers went to the Superbowl last year and have the experience and the offence to beat the Hawks.
