NFL Week 17 Betting Tips

Jack Benyon

The NFL regular season comes to a close with some fireworks as teams look to ‘win and in’ and make the playoffs.

Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears – Sun, Dec 29 21:25

One of the most exiting games of the season, the resurgent Packers get Superbowl MVP quarterback Aaron Rogers back from injury to face Jay Cutler and the Bears. The winner of this game will make the playoffs, and the loser will not. The 7-7-1 Packers have fought hard to come back into playoff contention with Matt Flynn, while the Bears have been steady if not unimpressive on the way to their 8-7 winning record so far. The Bears are 13/10 with Bet Victor at home, while the Packers are away favourites at 4/6 with Coral. The game should be a close one, and if the game is won by 1-13 points, Paddy Power offers 11/10 and 6/4 on the Packers and Bears respectively. The Bears are allowing over 160 yards in rushing this season, the worst in the league, and Eddy Lacy is 5/6 to rush for more than 83.5 yards against them today with Paddy Power. Jordy Nelson should be Aaron Rogers biggest target and he’s 4/5 to score anytime, also with Paddy Power.

Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals – Sun, Dec 29 18:00

The 10-5 Bengals clinched a playoff place last week, but are still playing for the 2nd AFC seed and a weekend rest next week. The 8-7 Ravens were destroyed by the Patriots last week and are 2-5 away from home with the Bengals 7-0 at home. Boylesports offer 4/11 on the Bengals whilst Sporting Bet give 9/4 on the Ravens. Running back sensation Giovani Bernard is 6/5 with Coral to score anytime, and Joe Flacco is an outside 10/1 bet with Paddy Power, he scored last week. Paddy Power also offer 5/6 on Andy Dalton to throw over 243.5 yards with his average per game currently at 268. The Bengals to bag more than 25.5 points is 5/6 with Boylesports and the game to have over 44 points is 10/11 with Paddy Power.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys – Mon, Dec 30 1:30

Its winner takes all and loser goes home as the 9-6 Eagles take on the banged up 8-7 Cowboys for the NFC East. Tony Romo will miss the biggest game of the season for Dallas to be replaced by Kyle Orton, and the last thing the Cowboys needed was more injuries to key players. The Eagles are 5/13 with William Hill and the Cowboys are 12/5 with Coral, with the only conclusion for this game seemingly being how many points will the Eagles win by. Paddy Power offer 6/1 on a 21-30 point winning margin, or 17/2 on a 16-20 point margin. William Hill offer 6/4 on the Eagles to score in every quarter and Bet 365 give evens on under 72.5 pass attempts, and both teams combined for 52 attempts last week. Coral offer 6/5 on Jason Witten to score anytime which is a good option with primary receiver Dez Bryant suffering with back issues for the Cowboys.

San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals – Sun, Dec 29 18:00

The upset specials also known as the Arizona Cardinals look to upset the applecart once more and snatch a playoff berth against a 11-4 49ers team that’s on a 5 game winning streak. The 10-5 Cardinals need New Orleans to lose and they must win if there to sneak into the playoffs, whilst the 49ers must win and the Seahawks lose for them to clinch their division and secure a vital rest next weekend. The 49ers are 10/11 favourites with Bwin while the Cardinals are evens with Betfred. Receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a baffling 6/5 to score a touchdown anytime with Bwin after scoring 4 in the last 3 games including 2 in his last game against the Colts. Paddy Power offer 7/5 and 6/4 on the game to be won by 1-13 points by the 49ers and Cardinals respectively, while William Hill offer 9/2 on 3 Cardinals turnovers and 11/2 on the 49ers defence to score a touchdown. Although Frank Gore has had a difficult few weeks, he’s 4/1 to score the 49ers first touchdown with Ladbrokes, and there’s no better way to shut the opposition fans up than by rushing the ball for a touchdown early.

BET OF THE DAY – Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings – A strange choice given Bush’s form, but he has a great matchup against the Vikings, and with Megatron seemingly out of action, should see plenty of the ball today. 4/5 Bet Victor
