NFL Wildcard Playoffs – Sunday

Jack Benyon

The NFL throws up (no pun intented) two more fantastic match-ups for us in Cincinnati and Green Bay as a place in the divisional round against Carolina and New England or Denver awaits the victor.

San Diego Chargers @ Cincinnati Bengals – Sun, Jan 5 18:00

The 9-7 Chargers travel to Cincinnati to face the 11-5 Bengals in perhaps the most predictable game of the Wildcard Playoffs. The Bengals are a perfect 8-0 at home and have been fantastic on both offense and defence while at the Paul Brown Stadium. The Chargers sneaked into the playoffs after some results went their way in Week 17, and couldn’t beat the Bengals in a 17-10 tie at home. The Bengals are 10/27 with William Hill, while the Chargers are 5/2 with Boylesports. The Bengals running backs are the pick of the anytime touchdown scorers, with Benjarvus Green-Ellis and Giovani Bernard are 13/10 and 5/4 with Ladbrokes and Coral respectively. The Game to have over 45.5 points is 10/11 with Stan James, and the Bengals are 7/2 to win by 11-20 with Paddy Power.

San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers – Sun, Jan 5 21:40

The 12-4 49ers have won 6 straight games this season and three straight games against the Packers since the beginning of 2012 as they come to Lambeau Field. The 8-7-1 Packers are without key player Clay Mathews but have a potential ace up their sleeves with forecasted bad weather. The temperature could be between 0 and -18 on Sunday with wind chill expected to be somewhere between -38 and -55 by nightfall. The Packers are 5/4 with Bet 365, and the 49ers are 10/13 favourites with Paddy Power. The anytime touchdown market is phenomenal for this game, with the longest odds on Frank Gore at evens with Ladbrokes and he’s got 9 on the season so far. Because of the conditions, over 6 touchdowns at 5/1 with William Hill is a nice option, whilst picking a winning margin is difficult with the conditions; Green bay is 6/4 and 9/2 with Paddy Power to win by 1-3 and 13+, while the 49ers are 5/4 to win by 1-13 and 9/2 to win by 13+, also with Paddy Power.

BET OF THE DAY – 49ers @ Packers –Frank Gore to score anytime – evens Ladbrokes
