Premier League Darts Betting Tips

Darts Betting TipsMark Rawlinson

The Premier League darts campaign got underway last Thursday in Liverpool and the shock of the night was Michael van Gerwen’s 7-0 whitewashing of Phil Taylor in a repeat of last year’s final.

Taylor will be hoping to get his campaign off the ground this evening in Bournemouth but faces another tough test in the shape of fellow Stoke-man Adrian Lewis.

Wes Newton v Raymond van Barnaveld Betting Tips

Wes Newton will be eager to chalk his first win of the campaign as he takes on Raymond van Baraveld in the first of this evening’s games at 7:15pm.

The world number eight was defeated by Scot Peter Wright 7-3 last week whilst van Barnaveld secured a 7-2 opening night win over Gary Anderson with an excellent three-dart average of 108.52.

Van Barnaveld is 3/7 favourite to win the match with Boylesports whilst Sportingbet provide the best value on a Newton win at 10/3.

Dave Chisnall v Peter Wright Betting Tips

Then it’s a match-up between the two Premier League debutants this season as Peter Wright faces Liverpool’s Dave Chisnall.

Wright, the charismatic World Championship runner-up, got off to a perfect start seven days ago but Chisnall also impressed thanks to a 7-5 victory over Robert Thornton.

Wright is favourite, with Ladbrokes offering Evens, whilst SkyBet provide the best odds on a Chisnall victory at 2/1.

Gary Anderson v Simon Whitlock Betting Tips

Simon Whitlock will be disappointed with last week’s 7-1 defeat to Adrian Lewis and will be hoping to get his first two points on the board as he plays Gary Anderson tonight.

The 2012 Premier League runner-up knew it would be a tough game against Lewis but will be especially frustrated at only being able to get one set on the board.

Anderson was also lost last week to van Barnaveld but he is 6/5 favourite with SkyBet to win tonight. However my BET OF THE DAY is on a Whitlock win at 7/4 with Sportingbet.

Adrian Lewis v Phil Taylor Betting Tips

Then at around 9:30pm, it’s the all Stoke-on-Trent match up as old friends Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor meet again.

Phil Taylor won all five of the pair’s meetings last year, including twice in the Premier League, as well as both of the finals of the World Matchplay and Masters.

Taylor will be hungry to kick-start his Premier League campaign with what would be his ninth consecutive win over Lewis, and Paddy Power back him at the best price of 11/10. If you fancy a bet on Lewis then Coral provide the best odds of 7/4.

Robert Thornton v Michael van Gerwen Betting Tips

The final match of the night sees current Premier League leader Michael van Gerwen take on Thornton.

As already mentioned, van Gerwen got off to a terrific start to this year’s Premier League with a win over Taylor whilst Thornton lost a very close encounter with Chisnall.

A number of bookies, including Totesport, offer odds of 2/5 on a van Gerwen win whilst Paddy Power offer odds of 9/2 on what would be a surprise Thornton win.

Coverage is live on Sky Sports 3 from 7pm.
