Rayo Vallecano v Sevilla Betting Preview 23/02/14

In spite playing against one of the best teams in the world, Rayo made their usual game last round against Barcelona (going upfront without hesitation and leaving many open spaces in defense).

Of course the consequences were disastrous and Rayo were simply trashed (Barcelona won 6-0). Keep in mind this happened away from home, against a monster of Spanish football (and international football).

On home ground Rayo are even more daring and courageous. They are also pushed by circumstances, as they are involved in the relegation battle and the only way of getting points is by scoring goals. The only problem is that Rayo are limited in capabilities and concentrating on attacking severely diminishes the defensive power. That is how Rayo got to have the leakiest defense in Primera (conceded 2.41 goals per game).

It was weird seeing Sevilla taking part in a dull draw last round (0-0 vs Valencia). The game was goalless because Valencia were the ones in better form and managed to impose the rythm. Valencia had an ultra defensive approach which kind of backfired and prevented them from scoring on counters.

Happily for everyone who will watch Rayo – Sevilla this weekend, things will be at the opposite end, with Rayo always adopting an ultra offensive and aggressive attitude.

Most probably both sides will use the same players as last round, as there are no reports on new injuries.

This should be an entertaining encounter, a fast paced game with lots of scoring opportunities. Over 2.5 goals at 4/6 from Bet365 is definitely one of the best bets in Spain this round.
