After 2 consecutive draws Wolfsburg got back to winning days last round away at Freiburg (won 3-0) in a game they moderately dominated.
Freiburg’s position in the table made them very determined but everything they created was successfully rejected by Wolfsburg’s defenders who were constantly helped by the 2 central midfielders.
Wolfsburg play a modern 3-5-2 with focus on the wings lately, since play-maker Diego got injured. Young replacement Arnold (19 years old) already started to show off his talent. Besides some nice and effective through balls for teammates, Arnold also managed to score again last round, reaching a total of 5 goals scored so far this season… That’s a pretty good achievement for an attacking midfielder, who’s only 19 and usually a reserve.
Opponents Stuttgart succeeded in ending the bad run (2 consecutive losses with no goal scored) last week against Hannover. It was a weird game in which Hannover dominated and had the majority of chances but converted only 2. Meanwhile Stuttgart had only 4 shots on target and somehow scored them all. Luck or pragmatism, call it whatever you want, but it’s certainly not something happening every day.
Central midfielder Leitner plays a huge role in Stuttgart’s game. He is the first line of defense against everything opponents create. Stuttgart’s defense is not that solid and without proper support they are doomed. And unfortunately for them, recently Leitner is neglecting the defensive duties.
Without doubt the key battle will be between young Arnold and Leitner. Arnold is more in-form at the moment, more lucid, and could push Wolfsburg to another victory.
Wolfsburg to win at 5/6 from Ladbrokes is one of the best bets in Bundesliga this round.
